Too many pills
Last week I spoke, at length, to my doctor's practice pharmacist. She reiterated that no more than a quarter of what I eat should be carbs but didn't really tell me if I was allowed to have none all day then a pizza for tea. This is exactly what I am finding myself doing and I suspect I shouldn't. But if I can just keep the calorie intake low and lose some weight then the problem might go away.
The reason she was calling is because I have had to increase my blood pressure meds and start on statins. I have had high blood pressure since I had pre-eclampsia with both pregnancies, and have been on meds to stabilise that for many years. This means I have a mini MOT blood test each year where various things are checked, mainly for what the computer calculates are my risks of stroke or heart attack. While my cholesterol has been creeping up slowly, computer has been happy. That is until my blood sugars passed the critical threshold and computer said "NO", statins are required.
So statins have a reputation of making you put on weight.

My thyroid function (also controlled my meds) suggests that losing weight might be quite hard.
I need to lose weight.
There has, however, been one great advantage to creeping onto the diabetic person's list - I have been bumped up the Covid vaccination list and can go for my jab next week!
What I have learned so far...

What I have learned so far...
- · Tinned fruit doesn't set off my allergy
- · I am quite happy to skip lunch, but shouldn't
- · I need to move a LOT more
- · I take too many pills.
